All I want to do is paint sunlight on the wall

Recently I’ve become obsessed with these two artists, Giorgio de Chirico and Edward Hopper. The way both deal with light and space is something I’ve searched for in my architecture. With Chirico, I enjoy his play with shadows and his painting titles hint at a narrative. Similarly, Edward Hopper begins to write a story about his spaces and the subjects in them. He pays special attention to body posture and mood. Enjoy–

  1. That is an interesting idea that I had not considered. At first glance, it seems that Hopper uses white to draw more attention to the subject. Another important note is that his white as a texture adds a tone or atmosphere to the image. What do you think?
